A topic system, not a dropdown
Start from Professional, Learning, Creator, Customer, Support, or Minimal. Add and reorder up to 200 global topics. Each topic has a stable key, name, guidance, icon, color, site/profile/group context, role and member-type posting audiences, optional group-type targeting, default state, and active state.

- Filter by any or all selected topics
- Follow topics and open a focused followed-topic view
- Mute topics for automatic feed exclusion
- Save named feed views
- Bookmark or share URL-backed filters
- See cached topic result counts
Group-owned conversations
When enabled, organizers and moderators create topics for their own group. Global-only, custom-only, and combined strategies are available. Removed topics are archived, preserving labels on historical posts.
Server enforcement
REST validation repeats context, audience, required-topic, and maximum-topic rules. Hidden controls are not treated as authorization.
